A macro lens and some patience can improve your wedding photography

I recently decided to take my 100mm f2.8 macro lens along to a wedding with the intention of using it to photograph the details. Macro photography is extreme close up photography in which the selected subject appears larger than life size. This can bring some challenges. You need to use the smallest aperture to gain optimum image sharpness and depth of field. But that means you need more light and so the exposure time is extended and that can introduce blur. Also the point of focus can be shallow so the focus point needs a bit of thought as does the overall composition. Practice as they say makes perfect and from a few shots I was able to include the below in the final selection.
